The Lake House - Marci Nault

Jenny's pick:

Summertime is a VERY busy time for us at Sarah Richardson Design and when I can't find a free moment to skip to the cottage, I like to unwind at the end my day with an easy breezy beach read. The Lake House by Marci Nault is an interesting novel about heartache, new found relationships and moving away from fast-pace city life to enjoy the simple pleasures of a lake side community.

Sarah's pick:

Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne and it reminds me of being at the cottage as a child with my Dad reading it to all of us, complete with great voices for each character. No matter how old I am, Winnie the Pooh is always enjoyable!

Where'd You Go, Bernadette - Marie Semple

Lindsey's pick:

This summer I read Where'd You Go Bernadette.  The author, Maria Semple, was a screenwriter on Arrested Development, one of my favourite shows, so you know the writing is smart and witty.  Written from the perspective of a teenage girl trying to find her missing mother, this book has the perfect ingredients for a good summer read: mystery, humour and travel (not to mention a fabulous cover!)

Olivia's pick:

I'll admit, sometimes I forgo Saturday night plans just to stay in to watch Saturday Night Live. What's better than a glass of wine and an hour and a half of comedy genius? If you loved Tina on SNL, then you will love Tina Fey's autobiography Bossypants. It chronicles her life as an awkward preteen, her rejections in New York City as a 20-something struggling artist, and finally her big break. I found myself sitting on the dock with my dad reading excerpts to him because he would ask why I was laughing out loud to myself. It is definitely categorized as a must read that will make you smile.

A.L.T - Andre Leon Talley

Tommy's pick:

A.L.T: A Memoir, the autobiography of Andre Leon Talley - it's next in a series of bios I've been reading on stylish, influential men.  Wishful reading?

Lindsay's pick:

Night Road by Kristin Hannah - I couldn't put it down, a bit of drama and a bit of romance, perfect read for the beach or cozy warm summer nights!
