If I were an ornament...

I’ve collected owls since I can remember. My grandfather gave me one from his collection when I was young and I always pick them up when I see ones that I love.  I make sure to have a few on my tree during the holidays.

Since visiting Paris for the first time in 2007, I have found that my sense of style and preferences for design have been influenced by the city’s aura. If I were an ornament, I would definitely be the Eiffel Tower! It's an emblem of everything Paris has to offer: a palpable history with stunning architecture, beautiful landscapes, esteemed museums and café lined streets, and the leisurely peacefulness that comes with taking a stroll along the Seine or through the Jardin des Tuileries. About Paris, Hemingway said it best: “… it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”

An icicle ornament! I love how they sparkle and you can scatter tons of them over the tree for a full and festive look!

The 2014 Swarovski Snowflake ornament. I am originally from Yellowknife Northwest Territories where a lot of snow is guaranteed! I love the Swarovski tradition of collecting a unique snowflake each year because they remind me of Christmas back home.

I would like to think of myself as a star, but when I polled the office, I’m told I would definitely be a nutcracker!

If I were a menorah, I would be... the classic Ascalon Menorah made of carrara marble from Design Within Reach. This menorah is so stylish, I would keep it displayed all year round!

I’d be a cupcake ornament because I always try to be sweet to everyone I meet. Plus, I love dessert!

Mrs. Claus! I've been labeled "office mom" so it seems like the right fit!

My Favourite Christmas Ornaments are the ones that have a special meaning behind them. When I was younger my mom would have my sister, my brother and I bake our own salt dough ornaments, then decorate them ourselves. For me, it brings back fun memories with family, and that is what Christmas is all about!

If I were a menorah, I would be… the Jonathan Adler Skyline menorah because it is stylish and modern while still embodying the necessary traditional elements.

I would be a floating feather ornament. I love the airiness and lightness birds represent; it's exactly how everyone needs to feel around the holidays!

If I were an ornament I’d be a glass icicle. As a kid, icicles are part of the magic of winter. As an adult, they remind us of the pure and simple elegance of winter. We’ve had glass icicles on our tree for 15 years now and I love the way they glisten as the light comes through them. In a house with kids, they’re as fragile as the real thing, so buy extras, and be prepared for a few imperfect ones to be created when the kids help trim the tree!
