Get Clever With Storage
Got bunk beds but wondering where you can fit in those necessary nightstands? When space doesn't allow for a set of handy drawers by the bed, make your own rules! In the Boulder Suite at Haus Heidi, we placed thenightstands on the opposite wall flanking a DIY bench. Now, there's drawers for storage + a convenient spot to sit with more storage directly underneath!
Modern Bunk Beds
Got a kid zone with space for a set or pair of bunk beds? Treat them to a cladding of channeled mouldings and don't stop there... wrap them all the way up and across the ceiling and down the other size - because more is more! Seen here in the Boulder Suite at Haus Heidi, we treated Brenlo mouldings to a juicy dose of earthy-toned paint to punctuate the monochromatic colour palette. Plus, we added kid-friendly durable vinyl floors from Fuzion Flooring and jazzed up the space with some cool Brewster wallpaper!
Nature's Best Colours
Nevermind the old saying - "blue and green should never be seen except in the washing machine." Truth is - these two colours are best buds. The Boulder Suite takes its colour cues from nature. I was inspired by the vision of deep cool greys and verdant greens of moss growing on granite while on a hike in Whistler. So the next time you're unsure about a colour pairing, look to Mother Nature for approval!

Space-Saving Design Tricks
Teeny and stylish need not be mutually exclusive realities, right? Let's talk about saving space and using design tricks at the same time:
- Install graphic "zebra" marble mosaic flooring under a floating vanity for an airy effect that offers oodles of storage - and counter space too!.
- The sconces flanking the mirror hang like bookends on the adjacent walls leaving you lots of room for a mirror of your choice.
- The groovy Brenlo Inspire Series (INSP03) moulding was installed as a chair rail to channel the eye lengthwise and give the illusion of a longer space.
- When given the choice to add fabulously graphic Brewster wallpaper, just say YES! This one is called "Runes Black Brushstrokes".
